Torn – Eleanor Green
Genre: New Adult
Release Date: January 7, 2014
When Katie Harrington becomes engaged to Branson Stone she believes her life is right on track for all her dreams to come true.
However, flashes of a life she never lived haunt her—leading her to discover a past that has been purposely erased from her memory in order to protect her from horrible truths.
The look on her fiancé’s face as she retells everything she remembers will forever be etched in her mind. Instead of catching and comforting her, he lets her go.
Retreating to the family’s cottage on the Outer Banks for the summer, Katie’s heart begins to heal. She succumbs to the allure of a dangerously handsome local, Aidan Romero. But as soon as Katie begins to let go and move on with Aidan . . . Branson finds her.
Now Katie is torn between two lives—facing her painful past with Branson, or moving on with Aidan and keeping the secrets safely buried forever.
Eleanor Green resides in Tennessee with her husband and two children. She enjoys the things everyone else does—reading, writing, cooking—but is also an adventure seeker.
Terrified of cats, passionate about hot tea, allergic to being cold.
Still left on her bucket list: getting lost in Italy and being invited in for dinner by a sweet family, eating a scorpion, and swimming with the dolphins.
Eleanor also writes under the name Lisa Poston Murphy.
The anticipation of the moment was nearly too much as Katie’s heart slammed against her chest. Branson slowly leaned in and it seemed like his lips would never meet hers, as if each second was stuck in a time warp. Their breath mingled as his lips slowly touched hers, as light and soft as the first snowflakes of winter.
She was surprised that such gentleness could come from someone with such an athletic build, then was caught up in the most soaring, tremendous sensation that swept through her entire body. She instinctively slid her hands up his arms, moaning softly. Branson responded by pulling her body tightly into his. He must have lost footing and stumbled backward, pulling her with him. Thankfully, the hall was narrow and they caught themselves against the opposite wall, instead of tangled up on the floor.
“Hmm, your green eyes against these red pajamas remind me of Christmas.” His lips found hers before they traveled down her neck. He found the spot behind her ear that caused her to moan and lingered there, letting his hot breath wash over her. She tilted her head back, giving him more access, and closed her eyes. “I’m not waiting until Christmas to unwrap you,” he whispered.
